Description:
The exciting IMPROV project entailed the conversion of a 100 year old theater and boarding house originally built for vaudeville into a modern dinner theater. The project included creation of two full mahogany bars, one in the balcony, and a full service kitchen. Platform risers with stairs and ramps were created over the sloping theater floor to accommodate dining tables. Exquisite wood trim, finishes, and craftsmanship to match / restore original Mediterranean finishes in the oldest theater in San Jose. New offices, a restroom core, and green room were constructed in the boarding house. Included offices and restroom upstairs, state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, ticket window, fire sprinklers and many details. This project was completed simultaneously with the shell building upgrades done for the City of San Jose.
